I am a web developer and entrepreneur. My current project is a web application (http://www.101-smart-goals.com) for setting and tracking goals. I have implemented a beta version of the application with a very basic design. I now want to polish it with a clean, simple and fresh web 2.0 design.
The site should appeal to a wide range of adult men and women. The application should be easy to use. Based on some demographic research, I expect the majority of my audience to be women.
I expect the 5 pages delivered to show me enough aspects of the design for me to apply it to the entire site.
I expect the following 5 pages delivered: home, goal, goals, sign up and current tasks.
Design as many pages as you need to show your concept. I will need the design of the home page and goals page to select a winner. Remaining pages can be completed after the winner is selected.
I am looking for an engaging banner. Navigation should clearly indicate the current page.
The jQuery icons are bland. I want colorful fun icons for the actions. I prefer that the icons have a hover state. I am using 16x16 icons to indicate the following actions: check, delete and flag. I use a larger 32x32 icon to indicate a completed goal on the goal page.
Buttons should indicate when they are about to be pressed.
I am using the jQuery UI date picker widget with the Redmond theme. The design must not clash with this. If it does, it must blend with another jQuery UI theme.
I am targeting a resolution 1024x768.
Banner should be engaging. Sign In and Sign Up obvious. Page should be uncluttered.
The categories will be collapsible. Design should show an expanded and collapsed category. Inspirational quote should standout slightly.
Should be obvious to the user when they are viewing a completed goal. An idea I have is to color code tasks so that in progress tasks, completed tasks and tasks not in progress are distinguishable at a glance.
Shows ads. Currently using a 160x600 sky scrapper, but the design should not prevent experimenting with a 728x90 leader board.
Sign Up Page:
Here I am looking for a form design that I can also apply to the sign in and profile pages. This design should show a field with errors, a field without errors and global form messages.
Current Tasks Page:
Design should show a normal task row and task row being hovered over. Should show how the user would delete a task or mark it completed.
I would like the design of an overlay showing a successful action and one showing an error message. I’m at my 5 pages so this is optional.
A beta version of the application exists at http://www.101-smart-goals.com. I suggest you create an account and get a feel for the functionality.
I want a clean web 2.0 design. I wasn't impressed with the design of most of the other sites in this category.
