Blue Chip Wrestling has been involved in the custom athletic apparel business since 2001. Founded by two former wrestlers, they have always been highly engaged in the amateur wrestling community. One of the key strengths of Blue Chip is their ability to continue to create exciting and innovative designs for wrestling shirts, shorts and singlets. Their Aggression line (http://www.bluechipwrestling.com/Se…aggression) was launched recently to focus on edgier designs.
For this contest the target audience is comprised mostly of younger males (grade school through high school) involved in the sport of wrestling. Interests in addition to wrestling are sports like Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Other brands commonly seen are Affliction, Tapout, and Cage Fighter.
Our fans (mostly on Facebook) will be voting on the winners of the contest. We'll choose our favorite designs, and let the people who will be wearing the shirts choose the winner!
Designers can look to our existing work and provided links for reference, but we want you to be creative - don’t try to create another shirt in the Aggression line, but create your own interpretation. Designs that will be popular with the community are bold, aggressive, and display power or the suggestion of force. Designs should not show graphic violence, but should imply strength. Designs will ideally reference the sport of wrestling either with text or a tagline or within the image. See attached example.
Final artwork must be vector art, preferably an Illustrator file (CS3 or lower). Final art should reproduce correctly at 11" wide. Please take the screen-printing process into account when creating your design. No more than six colors. There is flexibility with shirt color - use what works with your design.
The design will be printed on the center chest of a t-shirt, and ‘all over’ designs will not be considered. We have flexibility with shirt and ink colors - if you have questions please ask.
All designs must be completely original artwork. Blue Chip reserves the right to modify the winning design prior to printing.
*** Some suggestions for designs from our user community are: ‘Girl’ designs geared toward female wrestlers, Japanese Sunburst Flag or Oni designs, Greek themed designs, or designs incorporating dragons.
