Client wanted a small town feel for his fiction mystery cover. Important details to include were the home, evergreen tree, a sidewalk with stairs and chairs on the front porch. This black and white line image fit the description perfectly with the addition of some chairs and an evergreen tree. The color was added to the home and the illustration was combined with a contrasting flat style background. Then the entire cover is layerd with an antique wallpaper texture that unites the cover, adds to the idea of home and gives the idea of a little bit of mystery and that there's more going on here than it seems.
