Descripción general

We travel the world talking in schools, on campuses, and at military bases teaching the importance of "Asking First" before engaging in sexual activity with a partner (instead of trying to "just make your move - when often the other person doesn't want it"). Our "Can I Kiss You?" presentation uniquely incorporates humor, fun, and high energy into what is usually considered an "uncomfortable" subject matter. In addition, we produce educational posters, T-shirts, DVDs for parents of teens, books, and much more.

The Date Safe Project began many years ago after my sister was raped. Her strength inspired me to want to travel the world teaching the importance of consent, bystander intervention, and supporting survivors. Our work is a personal mission for myself and our entire team. You can read all about our purpose at http://www.DateSafeProject.org in the "About" section. College and university professionals who work in any of the following departments: residence life, dean of students, wellness/health center, athletics, greek life (fraternities and sororities), orientation (first 2 weeks of school), and Women's Center.

Our audience works directly with the issue of sexual assault and often with the survivors themselves. The majority of the professionals who receive our materials are females.

Requisitos

The cover MUST capture their attention - ideally related to the issue of sexual assault and/or bystander intervention (taking action when you see someone trying to sexually "take advantage" of a drunk person).

The inside of this magazine provides helpful "how to" articles along with informing readers about all the resources we have available to them such as the following:

1) "Can I Kiss You?" program at http://www.DateSafeProject.org/campus

2) "Do You Ask?" poster series at http://www.DoYouAsk.org

3) Curriculum to be used in classrooms for campuses on safe decision-making for healthier relationships (being created as we speak).

We DO want our logo colors incorporated - the color scheme from our website at http://www.DateSafeProject.org.

Subtitles on the cover could include items such as, "Students ASKING FIRST are making a difference!" / "Why No Means No is NOT WORKING!" / "Why Sensitive Issues NEED humor!"

The concept is for this to look like a MAGAZINE or Professional Journal. This publication should NOT look like a promotional item for The Date Safe Project. Feel free to experiment with the main titled of this publication (one example is "The Campus Advocate").
