Podcast art for Orthodocs.faith
Hecha un vistazo al concurso de Póster de Orthodocs.faith
[Ron] Orthodocs.faith is a podcast where Ron Bentley and John Harman discuss interpretation of Christian scripture and theology. They both have doctorate degrees in the field, and they encourage listeners to think critically about what they believe even as they remain consistent with the message of the earliest Christians 2,000 years ago. While the podcast might be at turns inspiring, comforting or challenging, it aims to be consistently thought-provoking, informative and sometimes even a little playful. [John] Orthodocs.faith is a conversational teaching podcast on topics of Bible and Christian theology. With advanced degrees in these areas, Ron Bentley and John Harman engage these topics and each other with careful attention to intellectual responsibility, faithful biblical accountability, and Christian integrity. A strength of the podcast is the combination of the hosts’ individual areas of expertise along with their pastoral experience in the church. We offer content that is well informed by a depth of academic qualification, teaching experience, and familiarity with Christian discipleship and the church. [Ron] The target audience is virtually any adult but typically Christians seeking to better understand what they believe or others with an interest in things Christians say whether or not they agree with them. [John] Adults of all ages with interest in deeper, more reliable, and intellectually accountable teaching in Bible and Christian theology than is sometimes available in mainstream Christian churches.

We are looking for podcast cover art that can also double as a logo. In our discussions, this is what we gravitated toward as a description: --- Values to Communicate [Ron] The design should suggest something that is reliable but not entirely familiar. If there is a way to say “seriously playful,” that might be what we’re looking for. [John] Confidence in the content as reliable and responsible; not merely unsupported personal opinions. Rooted in Christian tradition, while still thinking critically about that tradition. Conversational, collegial, friendly, non-combative. Respect and humility always present. Listeners should learn something in each episode, enjoy the process, and be able to think critically about what they have heard elsewhere on the topic. No political agenda or whining --- Stylistic Preferences [Ron] The podcast deals with an ancient message in a thoroughly modern context. That leaves a wide range of possibilities, and something that can merge those two, ancient and modern, would be ideal. We want to avoid something that lies too firmly on one end of that spectrum, though. [John] Communicates expertise: we are trustworthy, accomplished experts in these areas. Solidity, strong foundations. At the same time, the podcast is not stuffy and formal, but an informed conversation between friends whose strengths are complementary. Style should not be overly contemporary or traditional/ancient. --- Colors [Ron] While the initial color selection for the logo was dark blue on a white background (or the reverse), the color palette is open to be reassessed. We probably do want a restricted palette rather than something more polychromatic. [John] Open to designer’s input. Design colors should not be too whimsical or loud/bright.
The existing artwork was given so designers could see what we are currently doing, but please note we're not wedded to the current symbol used in the logo, the triquetra, or the style or color. While we are interested in variations on the current design, we are also especially interested in proposals for a completely fresh design that does not reference the existing artwork.

Evaluaciones del cliente
We were thoroughly impressed with how much work this designer put into our competition. The ideas were creative enough to catch our attention early on, and the designer gave us multiple options to consider. By the time we were choosing finalists, we were fairly sure this designer would win. We just had multiple roads we could go down because of all the options the designer had presented. It was hard to choose! We should also mention that when we gave feedback, this designer was immediately responsive, understood what we were trying to communicate and offered alternatives that matched precisely what we asked for. We really do appreciate the creativity and the level of effort put into our design.
