Bluehouse Skis is a small, progressive, independent ski company based in Salt Lake City, Utah that offers unique ski designs for sale direct to consumers over the web. Because we have shunned the traditional sales and design cycle that is engrained in the ski industry we find ourselves willing to experiment with different business models and graphic design approaches such as running a design contest through 99 designs. This design contest will be for a new big mountain ski that combines the traditional camber and stiffness of a normal big mountain ski with some rocker in the tip to keep the ski floating nicely in fresh snow. The typical person riding this ski will largely be males between the ages of 18 and 34. I know that does not give much direction, but this type of skier is generally upper-middle class and a total ski bum. Global warming and other environmental issues are generally important to skiers given the impact the climate can have on their ability to have fun in the snow. Although they operate in their own worlds, there is generally a lot of overlap in current fashion and current ski designs that we would welcome.
We are pretty easy here. The only real requirement is a kicka$$ design that is incorporated into the attached .AI template. The template includes a topsheet design, sidewall design, and base design. Generally our base designs are a combination of a black base with a white logo.
We have also attached our logo sheet and our updated cursive logo which is the company's go to logo font.
See http://www.factorydirectskis.com/ for examples.
For your reference, I have attached a couple of previous production model designs.
Please incorporate the name "DISTRICT" (the model name) and the Bluehouse logo somewhere on the skis.
Feel free to experiment with colors.
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
