My wife wrote a book that I am having bound for her for Christmas. In the book I want to insert a painting/graphic image that represents a particular paragraph in the book.
The book will be bound in old leather and I see the painting/graphic after the style needing to be something that will help to intrigue the target market which is girls 8-12.
This is the passage (focus specifically on the first paragraph):
Kyla dipped her hand in the cool water and let it run through her fingers. Slowly from below the surface she saw a spot, a blotch of light. The fish was surfacing, coming straight toward her. She wasn’t sure what to do, should she wave, should she speak to him? The fish’s head broke the surface. His wet scales glistened in the sunlight. His violet eyes watched her intently. She felt like they could see into her soul.
“Hello fish,” Kyla whispered. She felt a little foolish. He kept looking at her.
“Are you hungry?” asked Kyla. She noticed a crust from one of the sandwiches under the table in the gazebo. She brought it back and broke off a piece. She tossed it in the water and the fish ate it.
Children especially girls ages 8-12.
Needs to be something that can be reprinted on an fabricated "old" paper. Needs to be something we can frame.
Think of the famous children's books of all time and create a picture that illustrates the magic of the words above. If there are other questions please feel free to engage. I am happy to answer any questions.
