Peacock Marketing is working with a client in Greenville, SC who is building a proof-of-concept for a roadside maintenance vehicle that will be the first of its kind in the market. Instead of taking a tractor and re-purposing it to work in a roadside setting to clear debris, cut grass, trim trees, or plow snow, this vehicle will be engineered and built from ground up with military or DOT-type jobs – and energy efficiency – as its focus. Replacing the normal diesel-powered engine will be one built with a rechargeable battery. This combination of factors will make the vehicle truly unique in the market, as well as more sustainable for the environment.
¿Qué te inspira y qué diseño imaginas para tu empresa?
We are looking for design concepts for the actual look and feel of the vehicle. Just as a meter maid has its own vehicle and a street sweeping machine its own look and feel, we are looking for a new, unique, distinct look to associate with this future vehicle. It can be sexy and exciting, and at this stage, there are very few limitations regarding sizes and specs. This vehicle will be seen up and down highways, and if you could decide how it should look, how would you design it? And how can you make it unique and special and stand apart from the “tractor” crowd and the others already in the market?
Concepts can be hand sketched or computer drawn. The preferred size for concept is 11” x 17”. File format can be pdf or jpg for viewing purposes. It will not be necessary to design real vehicle for later producing - only the concept is needed.
When submitting designs for the vehicle, keep in mind that this vehicle will be very large. It needs to be capable of holding attachments such as large tree trimmers, for example, without tipping over. The vehicle needs to be able to withstand large masses of work, so the size will need to reflect this. There are some example photos in the project scope document in the design brief that will give you an idea of the size it should be.
