Hi! Initially, I am thinking of a logo, that has “Samuel Craig” as the central point, maybe with an interesting design which incorporates the first initials. Woodcraft and LLC would be less prominent.
I also tossed around the idea of the “tree of life” morphed into initials or something similar. I do not want the logo to be too busy with design or colors. Subtle yet poignant. Also, I do not want any woodworking tools, saw blades, etc to be incorporated in the design. I’d like an artistic feel to it.
My approach to working with wood can be summarized as such:
My work emphasizes the natural character of the wood. I do not stain wood, but prefer its natural tones. A tree is a fascinating thing to me. On the exterior, a tree is the same as any other tree; bark, leaves, etc,. But within a tree, is a subtle natural beauty which differentiates it from others. No two trees are identical, likewise, no single board is identical to any other. In a sense, they are similar to us. I feel a spirit from a tree and it’s wood. Wood furniture, besides function, is a medium to which we connect and intertwin with the tree. A tree is a marvelous thing. It soothes the spirit.
Please do not feel you need to incorporate a tree. I guess I got caught up in trying to articulate my approach to my work and provide insight. I am open to any ideas you may have and would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks,
