Silver Lining Cupcake Co.
We are a young couple following our dream of opening our own cupcake bakery. Silver Lining Cupcake Co. is an intimate, cafe-style bakery specializing in Southern gourmet cupcakes. Our cupcakes are baked fresh each morning with fresh (and, whenever possible, all-natural) ingredients.
Silver Lining Cupcake Co. is in a Southern college town, so our number one target market is the massive student population! Our bakery is within walking distance to freshman dorms, the college campus, and sorority/fraternity houses. This is the segment of the population that we will count on to come in, sit down, study, and get their sugar fix (and then tell their friends about it).
Also nearby is an established and prominent community of professors, lawyers, doctors, and soccer moms (or dads). We want to appeal to this older segment because they are the ones we will rely on for high volume orders for birthday parties and other special events.
Our bakery style is Southern-eclectic (think plantation-meets-exposed-brick-loft), and we want our logo to reflect that style. The bakery interior consists of dark hardwood floors, sky-blue walls, white trim and beadboard, and an exposed industrial-style ceiling. There are cozy sofas, cafe tables, and bar seating.
Our bakery colors are cornflower blue, leathery brown, and silver (although we only want the silver used sparingly, if at all, in the logo). A splash of an additonal bright color is welcome, if accented correctly.
Words that describe our ideal logo: charming, simple, classy, whimsical, contemporary (but not overly modern).
The name should read "Silver Lining Cupcake Co." The name should be part of our logo, but we also want our logo to (eventually) be so recognizable that it can stand on it's own, without our company name. We would like the logo to include a cupcake in some way, but it doesn't need to be the predominant design.
We don't want to see: "cutesy" or cartoonish. No cupcakes with faces. Nothing aimed at children--these cupcakes are for grown-ups!
We have included three very different logos we like (labeled Icon5, Icon4, and Icon3) and one that we do NOT like (labeled Icon2) to give you some ideas, but we are looking for a fresh perspective, so PLEASE don't hesitate to show us something completely different!
We look forward to seeing the designs!
