"The Working Director" is a company founded by a Hollywood based film and commercials director. The main goal of the company is to give our clients the information and skills they need to move from aspiring filmmakers to working directors. Almost all of the companies services are provided online, so anyone in the world can have access to professional directors and Hollywood executives, regardless of where they live. From webinars to online directing school to one on one consultation, theworkingdirector.com has something to offer directors of any experience level.
The culture of theworkingdirector.com is one of the "can do" attitude. We don't believe that entry into the film industry should be based solely on who you know, where you live, or what your film background is. If you have the talent and the drive, we believe that you can be successful.

There are two target audiences for our site. First, we are focused on those aspiring filmmakers that do not have the money to attend film school. These are the same individuals who look for "online film schools" or are trying to make their first short or feature films. We believe that these are your 18 to 32 year old driven individuals that make films in their spare time. You know, the "after work" and "on the weekend" crowd. (The directors on a serious budget.)
Secondly, we are also targeting those individuals that have some basic experience in filmmaking, but just haven't been able to make the leap into professional work. This audience is a bit older, probably 25-35. They have good day jobs, and put a lot of their excess money into making films. They probably have a few short films under their belts, but other than a few festival screenings, they still haven't gotten the needed recognition to get that "golden interview".
WHAT WE WANT:
We need a logo for our company that looks professional, but not too much like a "school" or a hollywood souvenir shop! We want our company to stand out as an "alternative" to online film school or even traditional film school. We want to logo to solidify the brand, so it needs to be as visually recognizable as the title of the website.
WHAT WE DO NOT WANT:
The main thing we want to avoid is the logo looking too simple or childish. Please do not simply slap a filmstrip, film can or director's chair next to some basic text. We are trying to redefine and update the concept of filmmaking eductation. Think modern and sophisticated.
Again, no simple filmstrips or director's chairs or film cans. If you want to incorporate that idea into a more refined design, we are happy to see what you've got.
