Mustang International is a small but high impact media production company that has NEVER marketed itself - working only on word of mouth introductions among clients. Its clients have been, in the past, truly international and the projects are always challenging as the company has "solved problems" regardless of the technology or assumed solution sets. We have a reputation for doing things where our clients have no idea to start; they call us. The more readily recognizable products are TV shows, event productions, custom multi-language DVDs, audio projects, in addition to general AV support for functions and events. Mustang International is now compelled to make itself a bit more public in support of some high-profile projects, but Mustang International is happy to remain a bit of an enigma. While we are able to consistently produce for our clients, every attempt to design or produce something for ourselves has fallen flat. We have also been encouraged to test this particular method of tapping into additional cost-effective media and graphic design expertise.
The target audience is key decision makers wanting to check our credibility. We want to show some presence, but not too much. The audience will be small, but serious. Similarly, potential clients may want to "see" who we are via the website. We want those checking us out to see something that looks particularly professional and bold, but not too edgy.
We are looking for a STRONG, simple, fresh take on the generically well-known name of Mustang. We do have actual horse ties in a couple of ways, even though that's not our product. Custom media solutions are what we provide.
We would prefer to have something that floats well on a dark or even black background. Something that would translate into 3D would be preferable.
We do have some history using various Copperplate fonts in documentation when we've been required to spell out Mustang International. This is not a requirement, but may lend itself to providing some continuity with those assessing (picking) this new logo.
We prefer something that can be broken into three variations...
A. logo (bug) with text
B. logo (bug) solo
C. text solo
YES: Metal. Stone. Glass. Translucent. Reflective. Lens-like. Media gear-ish. Musical equipment-ish. Engineered. Strong (maybe slightly muted) colors. No-nonsense.
NO: Pastels. Kid-friendly. Playful. Cute. Hippy. Overly edgy. Spray painted. Neon. Fluorescent. Cartoon-ish.
Vague references to mustangs are welcome. Don't feel obliged to be overt with the horse reference, but obvious is not a show-stopper either.
