Tornado OR Storm Cloud image (storm with lightning and tornado possibly?)
Brand & Business:
I am a storm chase fine art photographer that sells my photos to hang in office or home spaces.
My body of work is called “Skyscapes” as opposed to landscapes and incorporates anything to do with sky and weather such as tornadoes, sunsets, night time shots of the MilkyWay and the Northern Lights.
Most work is dramatic but some is also tranquil and calming.
The focal target audience are clients aged 30-55, male and female, with large homes or building spaces to accommodate large pieces of work. This also includes interior designers and corporate art companies or even direct to companies themselves (prior clients have included lawyers, dentists and insurance companies for example).
Though this is my main target I also have lower price point items which attract the full spectrum of customers including young kids who are in awe of severe weather!
I need to portray a professional image that conveys quality and reliable service with the impression that I am a friendly and easy to communicate with kinda guy – if that is even possible!!
As the main client I want to draw in is the bigger spenders. The branding should be elegant enough, though amusing can be more memorable without being cheap.
Simplistic and minimal on the image that can be easily identified small (website thumbnail in browser)
Text must be easy to read for the website address and noticeable on various color backgrounds, mainly white and black backgrounds.
Need large high resolution file so I can create my signage etc - PDF maybe?
I am looking for a logo that contains an image that will identify me and my work as well as my full website address:
1) Image for immediate recognition/identification/branding of my work. Will be used as website thumbnail among other things. Modern and minimalistic comes to mind
2) David Mayhew Photography.com text to be used along with the image to draw people to my website, used in eNewsletter blasts and art fair booth signage. Might also be used as copyright notice on images used on Facebook, but not essential (see current copyright on included images)
3) Not Crucial but a shortened version of the above combo where I do not have room for my full website, so maybe image and my initials DMP/DMPhoto or similar. Such as the Mike Olbinski logo.
Preference for a long full logo makes for better art fair booth signage, though square and in between may also work.
Although the idea of a sketched tornado appeals a storm with a tornado under it and lightning ahead also appeals as it shows that my focus is not just tornadoes. Storm structure is a key element to my work.
Uses: website, art show signage, business cards, brochures, letterhead, social media copyright.
My prior logo used a sky blue to represent my “Skyscapes” body of work. I do not want aggressive colors and I do not anything too soft such as pink given the dramatic work. Colors from nature (greens, blues) would be good or maybe warming colors that pair with sunsets such as orange. The colors must be harmonious with my images, art fair booth and website. I am open to suggestions.
