WHITE BEAR ROCKS
The trail into Havasu Canyon was no more than a mule path. The decent was so steep that I was relieved not to suffer from vertigo. My guide, Chamberlain, a Havasu from the village at the end of the trial, asked me how many horses and cattle I had; trying to estimate my wealth.
"We don't have them at home in Pennsylvania," I told him.
Searching for a point of commonality, I said my middle name was, "Bear." (Another story, but true). He looked at me with mild surprise, and he smiled.
"White Bear!"
Yes. I was very pale compared to Chamberlain. I chuckled, and said the name again outloud, listening to how it resonated.
"White Bear it is. Thank you for giving me my name."
Years later, as I traveled in China searching for beautiful stones for my new business, I was asked the name of my venture. Remembering Havasu, and without thinking, I said, "White Bear Rocks."
The ideal audience is two fold. One is the upwardly mobile Chinese with disposable income, seeking new and unusual additions to their personal prizes and assets. They want something that extends the traditional sense of stone jewelry into a more modern and empathetic object.
In the USA, my niche is natural stone/pearl and colored gem pieces that compliment what they already have, but also evokes a feeling of relaxed beauty and empathetic reaction.
My stones are designed to move people intuitively. Some are fairly expensive, but most are not.
I can send some photos if desired.
The logo should have these characteristics, as interpreted by you.
~White spirit bear (not polar bear). This is a genetic variety of black bears; not the large polar bear, not albino brown bear, not pandas.
~American southwestern feel. Think Monument Valley, Utah, and Navajo Reservation, prehistoric cliff dwellings.
~Navajo dream catcher.
~Then, superimpose the asian element: Buddhist temples, carved jade, bamboo, Tibetian prayer wheels, mandalas, kung fu grace.
This logo design will appear on all things: website (when designed), labels, business cards (bilingual), etc. So, it need to work both big and small.
