Present Pad
I'm an iPhone/iPad developer working on a presentation application for the iPad called Present Pad. This is a repeat of a previous contest, as Apple rejected the previous logo because it included an icon if an iPad which is forbidden.
Present Pad is intended to be used in situations where you need to give a one-on-one presentation or a presentation to a few people in an informal setting. Think of a salesman talking a client to lunch, and presenting new products between courses. Or a startup founder pitching an idea at a coffee shop. These are the sort of situations that Present Pad will excel in.
Present Pad organizes pages in a grid, and allows the user to quickly navigate between adjoining pages in whatever order they choose. The goal is to be able to adapt the pages you're showing to the situation, changing the flow of the presentation it progresses.
Attached are a few current screenshots.
This is based on an idea by Seth Godin, the well known internet marketer, presented in this blog post at http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_…g-pad.html
The target audience for this application are business people and salesmen/women who make lots of in-person presentations either one-on-one or to small groups. Think travelling salesmen, startup founders, business executives, artists making presentations to clients, etc.
This will compete with/complement applications like Powerpoint and Keynote.
I need a logo design and a matching application icon. I need both in a vector and raster format.
The logo should be on the scale of 500px on it's larger side (I'll leave it up to you to decide the aspect ratio).
The application icon (which is what shows up on the ipad home screen, similar to an iphone, and which the user uses to launch the application) must be in two sizes: 512px by 512px and 72px x 72px . It should not have any baked in gloss or rounded corners (those are added by the ipad automatically).
Some thoughts:
1. The logo and icon should convey that this application is fun to use. Something with bright colors would be great. However, it shouldn't feel childlike.
2. At the same time, it needs to be somewhat conservative, given the target audience. It should be something that a salesman in a conservative industry wouldn't be embarrassed to have seen by a prospective client.
3. It MUST NOT use any image or representation of the iPad, or anything that resembles an iPad or tablet computer.
4. It would be great to see designs that focus on the concept of ideas flowing/exploding/blossoming/floating out of a presentation. It would be great if your design can focus on the presentation itself, rather than the person giving the presentation.
Other than that, this is really open ended. Feel free to experiment!
