This will be an annual competition rewarding the best wine list in Norwegian restaurants. The price is meant as a tribute to the day-to-day struggle for giving good service and having outstanding wine knowledge, and in a professional and approachable manner communicate this to the customer. This will be part of a wider effort to make The Norwegian Wine Association more visible and known for its work for maintaining and developing the general knowledge about wine.
The goal is to make a logo with the same effect as the Guide Michelin for restaurant to have outside their door as a mark of quality. Something that is a stamp off approval and sign of knowledge and high service level – a badge of honour.
The Norwegian Wine Association want this price to be a clear and visible mark of approval. Something that will stand out and be noticed. Innovative, but still communicative. We want to avoid the classic clichés such as grapes, bottles, and old style font usage.
