We are the 11.11.11 Marathon. Most marathoners run for the bling, not the ring. The date 11.11.11 only comes around once every 100 years, so we are holding a marathon in Sarasota, FL on 11.11.11 and naming it (of course) The 11-11-11 Marathon. All the bling will feature predominately 11-11-11. I wish to create a logo that will be used for the race medal, that will be an eye-popper, and can also be used on the front of a race T-Shirt and Race Beach Towel. In short, I want it to be a medal that puts others to shame and makes any marathoner want to run for it.
Experienced marathoners. We are limiting the entries to 66 people, and will be holding a lottery to determine the field. Most of them have many medals already - some in the hundreds.
11-11-11 or 11.11.11 must be dominant. The exact medal size is not set in stone but would be expected to between 10 and 12.5 square inches. It will be used with a wide ribbon measuring up to 1.5 inches wide which will likely be yellow and include the marathon name and city. The medals may be any color but should use a web based color palate. Blends or fades will note work well. Gold or silver plating may be used for some or all of the design. As runners will be coming from all parts of the US and Canada the design should also include the words Sarasota, FL, and may include items native to FL such as palm trees, dolphins, etc.
Here are some examples of other medals just for an idea of size and detail:
Final artwork must be available in layered Adobe Photoshop .psd format.
Questions, please email me at Greg@AutoDealerMonthly.com. I am traveling to run a marathon between 7/2 and 7/6 and will have limited computer access during that time to review designs. I will be checking email during that time.
