We are a small company starting out with our first project to build an app for a London based band (Electro Dance). We are able to advertise ourselves both on the application and on the bands website. The background of the founder is in the Energy industry, providing software for traders and consultancy services. It is envisaged that the company will also build applications for corporates. We also have a number of ideas for games, apps with media content and gimmicks to go on the iPhone also, which we are looking forward to developing (when there is enough time!!). We are extremely flexible in what we can offer and professional regarding the development process, customer service and final product delivered. We also have a sense of fun about what we do but not at the expense of our what we offer.
This is wide and therefore makes the design all the more challenging. Primarily, we would like to catch the eye of business searching for an iphone development company or looking at our website for more information on who we are (i.e. the logo should show that we are credible and have a sense that we are larger than we are). However, it must appeal to the clubbing/ music industry and not be too corporate to be included on cool sites.
The Logo should be eye catching and designed so that it can be easily added to websites and apps, stationary and business cards (if it is possible to get a grey scale "embossed look" version for websites so that colours do not clash with other schemes that would be great).
Colour and look entirely up to the designer but the target audience is important - flaming flamingos may not appeal to an Oil Company looking to buy an app from us. However, too corporate and bands will think we are a bit too stiff.
We are not big fans of cartoonish logos or fonts.
The Logo should include the company name Quotien (either with a capital Q or small q whatever looks right in the design).
Here is a logo which we liked the look of from the site. The colour scheme was good although perhaps too much black and the shadow would perhaps get lost if used as an advert on a site:
