Alluve
Alluve produces software for sophisticated modelling of stochastic (i.e. random) processes.
If one draws multiple realisations of a stochastic process on the same diagram, the graph (see http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/…rocess.jpg ) will look like a river delta or alluvial fan seen from above. This is where the name “Alluve” comes from.
As inspiration for the logo, one could use the real-world alluvial fans and braided rivers. This aerial photograph of the Waimakariri river in New Zealand shows particularly beautiful structure of a meandering stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nevrar/2286192280/ .
For an example of the style that we are looking for, one could look at the logo of Microsoft Silverlight (trademark of Microsoft) at http://www.microsoft.com/SILVERLIGH…s/logo.png .
Alluve targets business customers, such as risk analysts and risk managers of financial institutions (asset managers, hedge funds, banks etc.)
The logo should remind of a system of braided streams oriented as in http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/…rocess.jpg. The logo should convey elegance, sophistication, innovation and dynamics. The logo should look well on its own and with the name “Alluve.” Needless to say, it must be unique and original.
The result must be delivered in a vector format which is understood by Inkscape.
