I sit on the board of an international school in Singapore (Tanglin Trust School http://www.tts.edu.sg) and have also been involved in organising rugby events - notable the Singapore Cricket Club rugby sevens http://www.sccrugbysevens.com
In order to promote sport within the school, I initiated a cup for the inter-school rugby match between Tanglin Trust and United World College http://www.uwcsea.edu.sg
The cup has been named after Phil Cunningham - Phil is also a governor of Tanglin Trust School, his sons attend United World College where they played rugby, and Phil has a long standing involvment in rugby
The audience is wide including
- school students (male 16-18 years)
- school faculty and govenors
- rugby players
A balance is required between the conservative needs of the older audience and more innovative designs preferred by the younger audience; that said the balance should be weighted to conservative
A logo is needed for the Cunningham Cup
The logo will be used for on-line and print promotion of the annual event including facebook pages.
It will also be included in commerative items including:
- the plinth of the cup
- a neck-tie to be given to players
The logo can include design aspects of the logos of the two schools - but should not incorporate these logos directly.
The logo should be in colour but also should be able to be displayed in black & white without diluting clarity
Simplicity in design will be preferred to complexity
