Because we focus primarily on taproom beer-drinking, this logo may be leveraged in signage and visual presentation of our physical building. Priority may be given to designs that lend themselves to logoed glassware and gear (shirts, hats, growlers, etc.), window displays, menus, tap handles, and other taproom-specific physical placement, in addition to more traditional logo uses like web / social, letterhead, business cards, etc. We know it's a tall order, but ideally, we'd like a cohesive logo across all our physical and digital mediums.
We are open to incorporating the obvious "copper" and "wood" themes into our logo and brand; however it's not a requirement and we are deliberately trying to avoid the increasingly prevalent northwest Montana "high-end rustic" look. Our taproom and brewhouse are not going to be shiny, polished, expensive looking, etc. We are going with some nice but cheap and highly functional finishes like concrete countertops, corrugated tin backsplashes and trim, reclaimed woods, exposed conduit, and we're going to be welding / fabricating a lot of our own taproom furniture. We'll be making our own flight paddles, shelving for glassware and swag, probably welding a bike rack for out front, etc. Picture a brewery taproom where you want everything to be nice and work like it's supposed to, but you want to keep your costs down (and keep customer's costs down) and just focus on the beer (which is the best beer ever).
This is our current website, showing our current logo. I like it because it swooshes around, and approximately represents some of the things we like in a logo. However, it's obvious whoever did it (me) is a novice. We are looking for something a bit more polished and cohesive: http://www.copperwoodbrewing.com/
I'm attaching an image for reference that shows possible store front locations for signage. We own the whole building. The taproom is the 5 windows on the right. The 3 windows on the left are tenant-occupied, so we won't be doing anything with those windows. From this contest, I hope to end up with a logo that might work for a window decal, and am open to any ideas anyone wants to toss out for other signage.
