Skudeneshavn Internasjonale Litteratur- og Kulturfestival (SILK)
The festival, popularly named SILK, takes place in the small town of Skudeneshavn in the district of Rogaland, on the West coast of Norway.
We are currently engaging authors, speakers and artists for the various events that will take place during the first weekend of November.
Due to its characteristic houses and old town environment, Skudeneshavn is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area.
The festival is for all who can read, and all who enjoy reading, so the target audience is quite big!
The main audience is however believed to be around 30-60 of age, but there are also a lot of events for children.
This festival is trying to use the atmosphere of the old houses and narrow streets, sceneries and locations in the old town of Skudeneshavn, to create an attractive arena with events for the audience interested in litterature, culture and art.
The festival is this year mainly presenting Norwegian authors, but is aiming to include more authors and artist from other coutries in the years to come.
We want the logo to reflect the atmosphere of the festival in a simple but characteristic way.
After naming the festival Skudeneshavn International Litterature and Culture festival, this created the anagram SILK in Norwegian (silk is however the same in Norwegian and English).
We would therefore like the logo to be created around this anagram (SILK), reflecting the soft, peaceful and at the same time exciting and international world of reading.
Some keywords relevant for SILK and Skudeneshavn;
Peace of mind
Ocean, boats and maritime atmosphere
Current web-page of the festival:
Please note that the web-site we use is provided from Ning.com and is therefore made on one of the templates provided there. It is therefore not a strict requirement that the logo has colors that comply with this template (we might launch a separate project for the web-page later on), but it is of course easier for us to implement it if it fits with the current "design".
Upon contest completion, we need the logo in each of these 3 formats: .eps, .ai, and an RGB transparent .gif.
