The logo should fit well with our website design, which should say "edgy, unconventional, irreverent, cool" - kind of like the skateboarding vibe. Colors: red and black/white... make sure it looks consistent with our homepage mockup.
If we really like your work we can hire you for a part-time position, doing other design work for our startup!
We are about to launch a socialnetwork that will allow filmmakers to earn extra money by creating videos forcompanies. Video assignments will be pitched to the community on behalf ofwell-known brands and everyone will be free to create a video in response tothe pitch. Videos that "go viral" entitle their creators to a shareof a cash reward distributed based on number of views and peer review.
The community has creativepeople with a range of experience and ability from school kids playing withYouTube videos to adults with formal arts or filmmaking training. What unitesthem all is that they get a kick from creating, from challenging the norms anda desire to showcase their creative talent to the world. Many will later usetheir the videos to build a portfolio to get professional paid work.
The logo should fit well withthe website design (please see homepage screenshot http://tinyurl.com/o8bl53). That means it may include colors like red, white, and/or black (perhaps the possibility of interchanging white and black for different backgrounds). Different shades or gradients may be used. The logo itself should be modified font, and also a small logo to the left of it (could be square-shaped, or a VS, or something like that).
The site is meantto have a "wow" factor so that in the first 5 seconds of visiting thesite someone thinks "yeah, that's something I want to be part of".We're seeking to recruit creative people from all artistic walks of life -filmmakers, yes, but also art-school types, animators, photographers, graffitiartists - anyone that wants to make viral videos. Also, because there's moreand more competition for these people to sign-up to creative communities, wespecifically want a site that says "edgy, unconventional, irreverent, cool" - kind of like the skateboarding vibe. In distancing ourselves fromcompetitors we are going with vibrant colors (like red) in addition to blackand white.
LOGOThe "logo" should be theway that our website's name is written (it is lookslariV spelled backwards). It can be spelled with either both V and S capitalized or just the V capitalized (both are acceptable).
- Have a vector version of the logo ready if we select you as the winner
- 50px x 50px Facebook logo
No inconsistent colors - no blue, green, yellow, purple, etc... just red and white/black.
Nothing too shiny-looking ("Web 2.0" type styles often look like that, but our site has more of an urban feel).
