Single Lotus is an exclusive, premium online dating service for single professionals of subcontinental (ie Indian, Sri Lankan) background who have been born or brought up in a western society and are looking to meet similar people. The target age demographic is 25 to 40 years old.
Most websites targeted at this demographic are matrimonial (ie arranged marriage websites). Single Lotus is different in that it promotes meeting quality single professionals for dating, long-term and serious relationships. Membership is by application and members will only be accepted if there are enough suitable, compatible people to meet the members' requirements and that they will benefit from joining the service.

The quality of members and the premium nature of the service need to be reflected in the logo. It can't be either too feminine or masculine as both genders are being equally targeted.
The logo needs to have global appeal.
The logo can be in one or more colours but should be able to be printed in only one colour

The service we are promoting is a premium service - the brand image to be portrayed in the logo and colour scheme should reflect sophistication, class and style. On the logos that have been submitted for consideration, the darker colours seem to be reflecting this better than the pastel colours. Also, after reviewing the designs submitted we have decided to stay away from 'gold' as a main colour.
Also, whilst we want the user to have fun on this website (and to enjoy the process of dating) the logo should still be sophisticated and not 'cutesy'.
