Gunyah
Gunyah is not your average vacation. Gunyah is for people who want a real experience when they travel. A Gunyah package is a combination of pre-booked travel products in the destination – accommodation, transfers, tours and activities – prepared and handled by our local franchise partner. It is not a fully guided tour, but instead an opportunity for travellers to explore the destination independently, with support and recommendations from a local on things to see, do and eat, in the destination!
We promise travellers the following:
I. WE’RE LOCAL. We know there is a way to combine the peace of mind of a package holiday with the mind blowing spontaneity of independent travel. And the key to that is having a local Gunyah team in every destination that we operate. When in Rome, do as the Romans do, right? So, why not do what locals do when you travel?
II. WE’RE RESPONSIBLE. In every destination we operate, we aim to preserve the local integrity- not change it. That way, you know that every Gunyah travel experience not only has a positive impact on the destination, but is also authentic to the local culture.
III. WE’RE EXPERIENTIAL. Handcrafted by local people, every Gunyah packaged holiday puts forward a hands-on experience - whether eating the local specialties, trekking through the jungle, dancing with local people, or climbing ambitious peaks.
We are targeting the traditional package holiday/vacation market who are prepared to take a small leap of faith and start REALLY travelling and experiencing a destination.
Our market is very wide-spread as we will sell our product across many websites targeting different themes and languages, but our main common market will be English-speaking travellers. Our products range from 'bare necessities' to 'comfort plus' and so again, a wide target audience. Travellers can visit our website and distribution partners (online and offline travel agents - Expedia, Flight Centre etc.) explore their niche travel experiences, from adventure, culinary, wildlife, nature, or community, and book these instantly online.
Our target market will be a bit tech savvy, but they don't have the time (or don't want) to travel completely independent and search hundreds of websites to find the best deal. They are willing to pay for a good travel experience. We are a higher-end brand but open to everyone.
In traditional Australian Aborigine language, the word "Gunyah" means 'shelter' or 'bush hut' - used by locals and traditional settlers as they crossed the land. It doesn't mean we need to use a hut in the logo but it could be incorporated somehow. Take a look at the holding page and initial logo we created using this concept: http://www.gunyah.com. I am happy for people to improve upon this concept if they can.
I want a strong international logo that really states that we are the number one travel company in the world offering great experiences, it should include the tagline: "More than a Holiday", and our brand will also be registered (R).
Gunyah combines the peace-of-mind of a package holiday/vacation with the mind-blowing spontaneity of independent travel!
Please be creative and let your imagination take you! We need a lot more work done so if you can come up with a good concept I'd be happy to continue working with you on other projects as we launch Gunyah.
