Dentistry has gotten such a bad rap over the years-patients are either fearful of the dentist or convinced that the dentist is a sheister. We are none of those things. Patient care and education are the two pillars that we erect the practice upon but we also strongly believe that the office can be a fun place to go. Joy in the practice is most important, first so the staff want to be there and love coming to work everyday and secondly because if the staff are happy, patients can tell. We want to impart a jovial light-hearted attitude that in no way compromises the quality of dentistry- in fact, just as I have thought long and hard about the style in which I practice, I have invested in continuing education to do a lot of aesthetic dental work. I want my patients to feel like they are lucky to see me--that I care, that I'm competent and that I do great looking work. It is all about the quality of the experience, inside the mouth and out.

The practice has been in existence for 20 years and I've just bought it from the previous dentist who is retiring. It looks beautiful inside (they just renovated it-dark woods, clean etched glass, flat screen televisions, videogames for the kids)-very high end. The clientele are white collar educated families. Most live in the area in homes that range from the $600 000-$4M dollar mark so I've got some expectation to live up to. We're trying to attract new young families to the office. These clients want somewhere cool, up to date, and very competent. They shop at Whole Foods, wear Lululemon, drive European cars, have a job downtown, probably in a suit but also in jeans in a creative industry. They don't mind paying for good work but you've got to be good!
I've also got older patients in the 60+ age bracket so I can't be too "hip" as to alienate them. My logo has to imply professionalism, competence, high-level care, and yet have something young, hip, funky to it.
No smiling dancing teeth or any teeth for that matter, no toothbrushes, no cheesy crap that clearly no designer ever came up with but that is everywhere in the dental world. Also, please try not to use my initials-many dentists work out of the office and I want the logo to work for them too.
Other than that, please use your imagination and show me something creative and smart!
Please use some colour, and think outside of the usual stuff in dentistry.
