SocketPlane is a open source software company that is changing the landscape of computer networking. We create software that allows applications to be deployed and connected quickly, at scale in a way that is simple to use.
A "socket" is a pipe through which applications can communicate.
We coined the phrase, "socketplane" to describe the architectural layer in which multiple applications communicate over a network.
The target audience for this product/solution are engineers and managers working in IT.

We are VERY keen on having a Narwhal as a mascot as there are some
great story elements here for us... I've collected some images here

Why Narwhals? Well our product/solution firmly falls under the
category "Software Defined Networking". Our industry has frequently
referred to this as a unicorn as it's mythical, idealistic and most
definitely not real (or useful) :)
