Design a logo for Christ; not for a church.

We're an apparel brand with the primary goal of using our identity to demonstrate that Jesus is, in a word, cool.

Our primary audience is males from their late teens to twenties who we feel can benefit most from a fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ, but we want to meet them on their level without "preaching" to them or turning them off to the message through overwhelming symbolism or worn out cliches. Our target audience may or may not already have a relationship with Jesus, but they probably have difficult questions regarding faith. They're looking for real leaders who demonstrate and teach what it really means to live a fulfilling life in Christ. We demonstrate confidence and surety in our faith and want our audience to feel the same with theirs. The logo feel we're going for is high-end with an exclusive, timeless feel. We want our logo to make people feel like they're standing taller and feeling stronger when wearing it. While we are a Christ brand, we don't necessarily want traditional Christian images to be the primary focal point for the logo. We're interested in creating a striking logo that invites further conversation as opposed to the sometimes over-used cross symbol that sometimes serves to shut down conversation because people may already have a preconception tied to that symbol, for example. When we think of First Kings Nine and our mission, we envision Jesus Christ as the man he was and what a modern (westernized) incarnation of him might be like. We think of imagery such as shield, blacksmith forge, sword, knight, warrior, rebel, stone, compass, fisher of men... Words that come to mind are boldness, truth, security, sharp, stranger, king, servant leader, transformation, detour or change of direction, flip the script, edgy... We want our logo/brand to convey a feeling of pride to wear and share, a sense of arrival, guidance, cool/trendy, exclusive, edgy, strength, excitement...
