Our company is called "Walrax" -- we buy and sell electronics (GPUs for computers) to videogamers and Bitcoin Miners. Walrax is very close to "Walrus" -- as in the animal.
I'm looking for a very simple logo, preferably something that looks good in just 2 colors (i.e. the logo itself is all in "white" and I can place it on my own Green background, or vice versa), with an optional Orange highlight.
Looking for a relatively-simple, cute animal theme using the (majestic!) Walrus. Please include the tusks (how would people know it was a Walrus without them?), but the "beard/moustache" is optional depending on what you can make work.
Please nest the logo inside a "circle" border (using same color-set as logo). Ideally the logo is touching or resting on the bottom or side of the circle, and not just "hanging" in the air. If the logo "penetrates"/"crosses" the circle border in one or two pronounced places, that's probably a good thing, but it doesn't have to!
I picked a bunch of cool logos that 99designs suggested as "inspirations", but to expand a bit:
Color, line-detail, and design wise, I think Shippo (https://goshippo.com/), Backcountry (https://www.backcountry.com/), and Twitter (https://twitter.com/) are in a great place because their simplicity lets the logo be really versatile and easy to see / identify / understand. They can re-use it all over their websites very easily without losing any detail.
Emotion-wise, I think the Twitter logo is too bland though. Shippo has a simple logo, but it still has some personality and momentum to it. Backcountry's Goat also has a real sense of style to it! 99designs suggested a squirrel logo whose tail shadowed a nut, which I thought was really cute and clever use of simple lines and colors.
Personality-wise, I've always loved http://www.lolking.net/ take on Urf the manatee (specific link at the very bottom of this section). I think this "Style" has too much going on for Walrax in terms of lines and colors and detail, but the crown and spatula and robe and pose really give him something special. Similarly, Well Dressed Walrus (https://welldressedwalrus.com/) use a top-hat, suit, and monocle to give their mascot a TON of personality. Again, I fear this is too many lines and colors for me -- I need something that looks great on my webpage and also on my packaging and boxes. Shippo, Backcountry, and Twitter all do a much better job for what I need.
I can't imagine incorporating elements similar to this guy's top-hat or crown and spatula or even bitcoins into the Walrax logo without making it WAY too complex. For us, that element might be: a GPU or Computer cables, or even something that conveys a spark of electricity. If it can somehow be done elegantly and add some personality, I'm on board! Don't take any of these elements as mandatory, I'm just trying to convey why I find the Twitter logo a bit bland and giving ideas. Shippo's logo has personality and forward-momentum and doesn't need to rely on any of these "addon" elements.
We've been running our website for 6 months now. If what we do or the colors we use aren't clear, feel free to take a look -- it should help you understand: https://www.walrax.com/
