At Meehan Antiques we pride ourselves in offering our customers the most unique buying experience in New England.
In the age of the internet, consumers demand immediate results and the ability to order products from the comfort of their own home. We also believe that customers would rather purchase an heirloom quality piece if the buying process was just as convenient and cost effective. Many people are drawn toward the large retailers when searching for furniture and interiors. However, these companies do not offer investment grade furniture like we do. At Meehan Antiques we are committed to providing our customers with professional consultation, authentic merchandise and a service level that cannot be matched.
Our Commitment to Quality
Meehan Antiques has been one of New England's largest dealer of high-end mahogany furniture since 1972. We buy and sell Victorian and Empire antiques, mahogany furniture and early American furniture. Morgan “Buddy” Meehan and his son, Michael Meehan, founded the family business in 1972. They opened their first antique shop in downtown Peabody, MA. They would later go own to move the business on site at the famous Richardson’s Ice Cream in Middleton, MA from 197x-198x. Then in 198X? they would move their operation back to Peabody on iconic Route 1 where the business remained until 199x.
Morgan leveraged his prior business experience in the real estate market to propel Meehan Antiques as one of the premier antique dealers in the Boston area. Morgan’s big personality and larger than life charisma made him an icon in the business. Although, he has passed, his legend still lives on through the countless stories that are still told even until this day. Today, the business resides in Salisbury, MA at Hillside Farm.
The Future at Hillside Farm
Today, the family tradition continues as Michael is now partnered with his son Jonathan Meehan. The picturesque 47-acre Hillside Farm, once a former dairy cow farm, boasts one of the largest inventories of antique furniture in New England. Today, “the barn” and vaulted ceiling hayloft have been transformed into a unique 7,500 square foot showroom. Also on site are three other barns full of fine furniture and furnishings for a total of 00,000 square feet. Be sure to say hello to our farm animals while visiting, Lastly, new sales offices features a full-bar, lounge area, flat screen tv’s to make your experience unlike any other.
Logo design ideas:
*My grandfather Morgan used to wear a "hat" that became his signature. (see attached photo of a painting of him). Maybe using a silhouette of his face and/or hat would be cool but not a requirement.
*We are an appointment only facility that has re-purposed an old dairy farm called Hillside Farm. So maybe we could use some of the barn in the logo design (see pictures). I also included a picture of my daughter Charlotte holding an original "Hillside Farm" milk bottle. I included this because I want you to get an inside look to this family business. I want this to come through in the logo/branding. I think that is important.
* I like the idea of using "Meehan Antiques at Hillside Farm". The farm is located at 40 Congress St, Salisbury, MA 01952 if you would like to check out Google Earth.
*I am hoping that people understand what we sell by looking at the logo. I have included some pictures of some of the antique furniture we have sold.
