Shed Light Technology
Shed Light Technology provides a range of technical services supporting attorneys' courtroom presentations by incorporating visual and auditory elements designed to clarify, "enlighten", and persuade juries and judges on key points in the cases.
Shed Light Services:
1. Outfit the courtroom with projectors, monitors, and laptops used to display information to support the lawyers position
2. Digitally store and organize all relevant documents, photos, charts, animation, and reconstructions so they are readily available.
3. Provide technical and design expertise to take full advantage of software tools so as to craft a compelling and memorable presentation.
4. Operate the equipment in the courtroom to make sure that the presentation runs as planned - without technical glitches.
It's important to keep juries and judges focused and attentive during a presentation. Studies show that retention and understanding are improved when a combination of visual and oral formats are used.
Shed Light’s service is intended to help simplify and clarify complex ideas and arguments.
We want to be seen as information presentation specialists who use technology as a means to understanding. Shed Light is about creating persuasive, clear, and easily recallable presentations.
We are the stage crew for the attorneys – essential to the show but never in the spotlight.
Primary – Small law firms, with limited support staff, whose main practice area is litigation. These firms don’t have the internal resources of the bigger firms but are looking to use the same tools available to the larger practices. There are two groups within this audience: those attorneys who are open to using the technology but aren’t aware of Shed Light, and those attorneys who are reluctant to adopt new approaches due to technology phobia, ignorance, or being “set in their ways”.
Second Level – Support staff at law firms including office managers, paralegals, and computer technicians at companies whose attorneys look to these staff members for help in organizing information and presentations for trials, mediations, and hearings. These people are influencers, if not the decision makers.
Third Level – Expert Witnesses involved in making presentations in courtrooms and in governmental hearings who need support in organizing and strengthening their testimony with audio-visual materials.
Emphasis should be on Shed Light. "Technology” can be smaller type size - less emphasis but still there.
No particular font required but should be clean and sharp – looking for clarity.
Colors – Be creative, no specific colors in mind but want colors that are easily replicable for different applications; i.e. website, business cards, print advertising, letterhead, clothing, signage and banners.
Want logo to be strong in black and white.
Needs to look good with both light and dark backgrounds.
Strong, simple lines - clean, not busy.
Impressions that might be incorporated in design (We are open to other ideas) -
Shedding light on something in the dark
Getting to core idea
Simplifying the complicated
Out of the darkness into the light
Winning design needs to be provided as a CMYK image in SVG or Adobe Illustrator AI format and as a layered RGB file in Photoshop PSD. We would also like to have JPEG versions in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large.
Be Creative - Have Fun!
