Gerendum Estate Management
Gerendum is a brand new company operating in the Miami Beach area of South Florida providing an inclusive set of estate management services to absentee owners of high-end second homes. Gerendum started out of my own need for similar services, but upon investigation that resulted in zero companies doing anything close to what we are, I decided to start the business myself. Gerendum is an old English word that literally means: things to be done. Also, our acronym is "GEM" which is meant to subconsciously remind people of our exclusivity (however, this imagery should not be a conspicuous part of the design, rather could be used subtly if done well...) Finally, because in South Florida "property management" has a specific connotation, we have dubbed ourselves "estate management" to differentiate the services we are providing so that people understand we are NOT managing large apartment high-rises.
The services we will be providing are end-to-end. The idea is that from the moment a client turns the key in their residence until the time they leave they have had to do very little to manage the house hold. An example is Arrival and Departure Prep which means making sure the house is clean, the yard is manicured, the pool and hot tub are clean and heated to desired temperatures, the refrigerator is stocked as requested, the boats, jet-skis, cars, and scooters are fueled, etc.
Our target audience is condo or single family home owners that own second homes worth $2.5MM and up. Typically, they are an extremely affluent, service conscious group who appreciates ease of use and being able to outsource as much as they can to make their lives easier--and that's what Gerendum is all about. Our clients are looking for a complete solution that removes the hassle of owning a second home as they probably own several other homes as well.
Additionally, our primary marketing channel will be indirect focusing on realtors that possess and sell high-end listings.
The logo SHOULD be:
Clear, concise, clever, modern, and high-end.
I am indifferent about the use of colors. This may change once I start to see submissions, but as of right now, the sky is the limit.
Also, the logo should focus on "Gerendum." The "Estate Management" part can or can't be used as part of the logo. Use the option to your benefit. Again, my position on this may change, but will ultimately be informed by the responses.
Also, a real subtle use of Gem imagery in the white space would be really cool (and clever). Again, I don't want this to be the focus of the logo necessarily, but think it would kind of be like the arrow in FedEx... One of those things that you're sure to miss if you don't know what to look for...
The logo should NOT be:
Look like its from 1999
More "NOTs" to be determined as submissions are entered.
Should not incorporate or make reference to geographical variables.
Have fun with this! We are a fun company run by a young team so we are receptive to a lot of different creativity! Also, feel free to ask additional questions. We will be monitoring the design process closely and will provide ample feedback. :-)
