We are a religious organization. In fact, we are a Christian Church of the United Church of Christ denomination.
St. Paul’s UCC is a church located at the crossroad of our life and faith. This means, that we are committed to living our lives at the location where our faith and life meet. We will strive to integrate our faith into our everyday living. We will commit to being the same person on Sunday as we are every other day of the week.
Here's what I am looking for. I want to capture the idea that we are a "people on the move together." We are not static but moving. We are not old and worn out, but alive, thriving, and embracing the new. That we are a community of people doing God's work together, not a building. I am open to designs that incorporate a building into them, I just want to mostly focus on the people/community part of being "church." I also want to capture that we are a people who are intentionally striving to live at the crossroads (the intersection) of our life and faith. That we are literally called to be integrated people, integrating our beliefs with our lives moving toward wholeness and beauty.
I think we are also looking for a design that fits the following description. I am looking for a design that is simply, minimalist, elegant, sophisticated, and feminine (possibly, our folks called it scrolly:), and we are open to seeing the opposite, as well, as contrast helps with building clarity).
We are located in a small town in rural Wisconsin. We are not a town church, we are actually physically located outside of town. Though our faith is ancient, our thinking is not. We are striving to find ways to be relevant in our faith. We are a multi generational church, and we hope to remain so. We are a community who loves to have fun and we really enjoy being with each other. Our goal as a congregation is to grow in our faith as well as in our outreach--reaching out beyond the four walls of our church into our community.
