Precipice Films is a production company specialising in engaging, inspiring video content for leading global brands. Our videos are dynamic, energetic and tend to focus on the relationship between the brand and its audience through more human-focused stories.
We cater to a wide variety of demographics but want to convey the idea that we're a small but enthusiastic group of filmmakers with dynamic ideas and big dreams!
What I really like about the Design examples I've provided is that they convey a sense of creativity and energy without really taking themselves too seriously (i.e: we're not a gigantic film studio and we're not pretending to be). We wear our small size and underdog status as a badge of honour. In fact the name Precipice Films came about when we thought things weren't going to work out and we felt like we were standing on the edge of either quitting or continuing. But we stuck with it and everything worked out! Probably tough to convey in design terms I realise, but it's that sort of inspiring viewpoint that we try to convey in our work!
What I definitely would like to avoid are cliched images that are overused in my industry. Things like Cameras, Projectors, Lights. I'm happy with the subtle incorporation of things like the film reel ticker tape but that's about as far as I want to take it. In fact, as most of our clients are creative agencies you can even treat the logo as though you were designing for an agency!
