Inspiring Identity for Outdoor Sports Video Production (Redesign)

Filme von Draussen

We are a video and photo production, specialized in outdoor sports and tourism. We create inspirational content about hiking, skiing, mountain biking and all other activities in the mountains.

The name "Filme von Draussen" is German and is translated "Films from Outdoors".

IMPORTANT: We are looking for a re-design of our logo and a creation of a new business card. We are NOT looking for a completely new logo design.

Regarding the logo, we are specifically asking for a new design of the type and an optimisation of the mountain illustration.

The logo is now almost 8 years old. We think, it still does a decent job in communicating what we do (video production in the mountains), but there is room for optimisation. Especially the word mark "Filme von Draussen" needs an overhaul: The current stencil type looks very handmade and DIY, which was right in the early days of our company, but now we are looking for something a little bit more professional. In my mind, I am seeing a Sans Serif type with a little design accent here and there. We are open for other type ideas though, as long as the design language is in line with our values "Inspiring & Creative", but also "Reliable".

Regarding the figurative mark, we'd like to keep the mountain illustration, but we are curious to see if this illustration can be optimised. We are thinking of slight changes regarding the shape and balance of the "negative space mountains". Please do not come up with completely new figurative marks.

We need the logo in two versions: 1. Horizontal 2. Compact (Square / Circle).

Regarding the business card: When we designed our current business card, we were looking for something unusual, something that makes people look up, when you hand it over at a trade show for example. The really rough handmade look resembling and index card did this really well, but as said earlier, we are looking for something that is less handmade and more professional. Nevertheless, we are looking for something creative, something that turns heads. Furthermore, please keep the production simple. It should be creative, but not in terms of exotic and expensive printing tricks.
