Rise Church Portland (Maine) exists to invite ALL people to EXPLORE, FOLLOW, AND JOIN JESUS to bring LIFE to the BROKENNESS in ourselves, our city, and the world. We want to create places for people to explore meaning and encounter a community centered on Jesus and contributing to the flourishing of our city. Our target audience is those who do not already attend church so we would prefer not to use overt religious imagery. Hey Everyone, Thanks for your beautiful designs. We are excited to work with each of you on this next round. We chose you based on your initial designs as well as looking through each of your portfolios. We think you all have the best overall skill set to help us find a logo for our church in Portland, ME. There are things we like in each of the 3-5 star designs that we ranked. We'd love for you all to continue to think outside the box and create more designs. We would love a logo that is unique rather than just lettering in a nice font. You guys are doing a great job trying to design around the theme of RISE. Ideas: these are ideas that aren't meant to hem you in. Don't see this as directives or as a request to try to blend all of these in one logo but rather as a buffet of general ideas. -We like that you are starting to incorporate the natural scenery of Maine (fir trees, eastern white pine, rocky coast, sunrise, ocean). (NOTE: We don't want lighthouses or anchors because that is overdone here and clashed with theme of RISE). -Also, we like how you guys are trying to incorporate imagery from the Biblical narrative, specifically the cross and the resurrection (empty tomb which could have a similar look to a sunrise). Also, we do like some of the more abstract circle and triangle logos too. -We like your color choices around greens, blues, reds, pastels. Gold is also another idea that could be incorporated. -Also, men generally hate going to church so we'd prefer to have a logo that isn't going to be so feminine that it's a turnoff to your rugged Maine lobsterman. LL Bean (based here in Maine) does a good job walking this line. So we'd love something that appeals to both men and women. I also am going to attach some screen shots of other logos that we like in order to help you guys get a scope of our interests. We are going to private message you to highlight a few of the logos in your portfolio that we like. Finally, we are praying for you, and we have a team of 50 people praying for you, that the Holy Spirit would fill you with creativity as you reflect God's creative character through your work.
