Building Culture
We design and build responsible, enduring homes for conscientious individuals by fusing timeless and sustainable building practices with modern innovations in a simple, elegant, unique way. We achieve this by coupling brick masonry, one of the oldest and most resilient building methods, with 21st century technology. Our solid brick homes improve with age, can be passed down generation after generation, and embody the graceful, authentic beauty of a material that was created to fit the human hand. We offer an alternative to the current paradigm of commodity driven, "bigger is better", faux luxury disposable houses for those who are actively seeking to make different choices to create new and better outcomes in their lives and the world. We are pioneering a new way to build, and a new way to think about our homes—not as commodities, but as treasured gifts, active participants in our lives and communities. We are building homes worth loving.
Dark neutrals or earthly pastels. Don't like really bright, stark colors that screams "RED" or "ORANGE". But a more muted, earthy, pastel variation could work!
Looking for artsy, organic feel with some hipness. Check out the website I'm working on to get a feel for style. It's under construction, but offers direction. http://www.buildingculture.com.
And a 1 minute video of my upcoming project which gives a sense of style.

I want to stay away from anything that feels corporate/big business. I don't want something that screams "engineering firm" or "construction management". I'm a small builder building solid brick masonry homes. How all the oldest buildings in the world were built. For sense of style think cool coffee shop, repurposed warehouse or loft apartment with rough brick walls. It's rough, real, authentic, timeless. I could go with a clean look so long as it doesn't feel corporate. Would be interested in a sketchy feel for sure.
I'm going for a cool/hip/fun vibe. My target market are people who shop at Whole Foods. Sophisticated, intellectual, but also stylish and fun. No corporate/sterile vibe. At the same time, my homes are not cheap, so my target market is not mid-20's hipsters. It's people in their 30's/40's, newer families with younger kids, who are looking for an authentic, healthy and beautiful home.
I also want to note that I both design and build all my own homes. I also use natural materials whenever possible. Authenticity is a big theme for me.
