Starling's mission is to create, to connect, and to inspire communities of trust, and to empower those communities to drive increased institutional integrity. That sounds heavy, but it's not, and nor should be our logo...! Our aim is to harness the power of big data analytics to the energy and optimism of social networks, creating a community platform and a set of online and mobile device tools that will work to foster greater trust among communities of like-minded folks across a broad range of organizational and institutional settings. We are a "tech-enabled" business -- not a tech business -- with peer networks at our core. While we're not creating a new social media company, we will work on top of existing household names in social media: e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc. We also intend for our products and services to be relevant to a global audience, so we want a logo that is image driven rather than text driven. That say, text itself can serve as an "image" of sorts -- e.g., consider Pinterest's logo -- so creative means of incorporating the word "Starling" are desirable. We want a logo that is clean, modern, elegant: simple without being simplistic. I've attached lots of images that inspire my own creativity, and while none is "just right" I hope that these will help to inspire more productive creative thought for you...!

I need a cartoon of a kid, blindfolded, swinging a stick at a Piñata. The piñata needs to be labeled "Conduct Risk" and the child needs to be labeled "Risk Manager." Beneath the image we need to have text as follows (copy may need adjusting later on): What is most needed here? A. a longer stick B. a fatter stick C. more sticks D. taking off the blind-fold

This needs to look more professional than comical. The cartoon needs to make the point that, at most firms, efforts to manage the risk that people engage in misconduct are largely based on a poor appreciation for how those risks come about and this leaves risk managers 'swinging blindly' at the problem.
