WP-Design in news sites layout for a home cinema portal

TV Facts

tvfacts.de is a german online portal with news, trends and articles about televisions, new display technologies, home cinema and high definition television (hdtv). The site also contains practical guides how to find right consumer electronics, general information about the technologies, special offers and in future also a community. The site is structured in categories, sub-categories, articles, tags and static pages.

People (mostly men) who are interested in tvs, home cinema and hdtv, but also people who are willing to buy new consumer electronics.

We need a wp-design in news sites layout with 2 columns. It is really important for us that the theme is not looking like a blog.

We have created a draft which should serve as a template:

You only need to change the colors, headlines, links, navbars and such things. The layout itself should be unchanged. But please don't copy everything from the draft, because of the rights of the design holders.

These are thestar.com and netzwelt.de

What we want / need:

- a loyout for the welcome page, the category overview and the article detail page
- a header with main and sub-categories and a breadcrumb navigation
- a logo is not so important (follows in a separate project)
- 2 columns: the main column with the content part and a sidebar on the right side
- a slideshow with popular posts on top of the welcome page (500*250px)
- the sidebar should have a width of 300px for adding medium rectangle banners, should also have places for 3 featured offers with images, widgets with recent comments, best / most voted posts and polls
- the entire layout-width should not exceed 840px, so that we can add wide skyscrapers (160*600px) right of the page
