Shaun M. Jones has advised clients on all aspects of investment strategy, portfolio risk, and wealth management for almost two decades. His clients have included affluent individuals and families mostly from the legal, medical, and executive fields. A contributing author to the book Real Life Financial Planning for Physicians, Shaun has been awarded several copyrights related to his research in the field of personal wealth management and has contributed to articles in major financial outlets like CNBC online.
As the son of an engineer, Shaun picked up a need for numbers, and especially a hankering for using his own calculations to disprove widely accepted concepts. He has nurtured that desire throughout his career, even conducting his own research related to viewing taxation as an investment expense ratio. Shaun has been awarded several copyrights related to his research including The Life-Cycle of Taxation©, and Asset Location Strategy B©.
After his first five years in the industry, Shaun became frustrated with the tools that were available to advisors in the industry because they were too simplified and usually biased towards whatever product they were built to measure. That is when he started making his own calculators and hiring actuaries to help build his own tools that produced unbiased comparisons. Armed with these tools, Shaun began to test the theories and assumptions that he had been taught to take for granted when selling products early in his career. The results have led Shaun to recognize the faults of the investment and advice industry and to embrace forever the truths about investing.
